Experience a unique evening of opera as the University of Central Oklahoma Opera presents two powerful one-act works in a single night.“The Ghosts of Gatsby,” by Evan Mack and Joshua McGuire, centers on Zelda Fitzgerald as she navigates her life and relationship with writer F. Scott Fitzgerald. With a modern score and compelling narrative, this opera offers an intimate look at the iconic literary couple.“The Old Maid and the Thief,” a darkly comedic opera by Gian Carlo Menotti, takes the audience into a seemingly quiet small town turned upside down by the arrival of a mysterious drifter. Filled with colorful characters, clever dialogue and humorous music, this opera is a fast-paced tale of mischief, desire and unexpected consequences.
Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson are back on the case! An investigation into the Bohemian king’s stolen letters cascades into an international mystery filled with spies, blackmail and intrigue. With world peace at stake, Holmes and Watson join forces with American actress Irene Adler to take down cunning criminal mastermind Professor Moriarty and his network of devious henchmen.
