The 23rd annual Carne Diem benefiting United Way of Central Oklahoma is Friday, October 24!
Calling Carne a chili cook-off doesn’t quite do it justice. This lively community gathering is the most festive downtown block party around!

For a $15 minimum donation, you’ll get to sample a variety of chilis, with 60+ delicious choices made by amateurs and professionals alike. Per usual, there will be beer available for purchase, live music and a pepper-eating contest. New this year, we'll be line dancing with Pepper Vold!

Itinerary
11:00 am – Gates open, chili is served
12:30 pm – Hot pepper eating contest
12:45 pm – Chili champions crowned
1:00 - 2:00 pm – Line dancing

Come support Breast Cancer Awareness Month at Mango Cannabis on Saturday, October 25. Celebrated lifestyle and accessories brand Blazy Susan will be hosting an exclusive pop up with promotional giveaways throughout the day, local influencer appearances and breakfast items. Limited edition Lone Wolf x Blazy Susan "Susan Infusion" pre-rolls will be available for purchase. A portion of every collaborative pre-roll purchase funds life-saving breast cancer screenings and care for uninsured women through the Oklahoma Project Woman. Get lit for a cause because nothing shows support like pink, pre-rolls and pastries!

The Wall of Fame Dinner & Awards is the Oklahoma City Public Schools Foundation’s premier annual celebration, honoring educators, leaders, and community partners who make a lasting impact on students across the district. This event recognizes outstanding OKCPS alumni turned community advocates who demonstrate exceptional dedication, innovation, and leadership in our city.

This year’s event will honor four outstanding OKCPS alumni:

Marilyn Luper Hildreth, civil rights advocate
Patience Latting, former OKC mayor and trailblazer for women in leadership
Bill Citty, former OKCPD Chief
Glenna & Dick Tannenbaum, beloved philanthropists

Each honoree represents the heart of what makes OKCPS thrive—commitment, creativity, and a passion for student success.

More than an awards dinner, the Wall of Fame is a meaningful tradition that connects the heart of Oklahoma City with the bright minds of its students, fostering a culture of excellence, recognition, and shared commitment to education.
