OKCMOA’s seventh annual Art in Bloom will feature floral sculpture interpretations of works from our permanent collection, all crafted by designers from across the state. These exciting new works will be displayed in the galleries and throughout the Museum. Self-guided tours and workshops will round out this can’t-miss festival of flowers!

Take your museum visit to the next level—literally! Starting on June 7, spend your Saturday mornings on the OKCMOA Roof Terrace, a scenic spot to vibe and take in the sights and sounds of downtown Oklahoma City. Enjoy locally sourced pastries and refreshing drinks available for purchase—the perfect prelude to a day of film and fine art.

Access to the Roof Terrace is included with a film ticket purchase or gallery admission. Simply show your purchase confirmation to the Admission desk, then ride up the elevator!

You are invited to attend our yearly Spring Plant Sale. All the plants are grown in our greenhouses located on the Cleveland County Fairgrounds. All grown by our Master Gardeners. The are Oklahoma grown making the plants acclimated already to out Oklahoma.

Discover the magic of times past at Reaves Park this April as you are transported to an age of kings, queens and knights in shining armor at Norman's Medieval Fair. Held annually since 1977, this exciting three-day event recreates a 14th century spring market fair complete with a visit from King Edward III. Experience the Middle Ages through the art and crafts of over 200 artisans, food, games and a vast array of entertainment for all ages. Unique and handmade wares include whimsical and fine art, jewelry, woodworking, leather goods, swords and shields, pottery, stained glass and clothing.
Merriment abounds at more than six stages with storytellers, jugglers, minstrels, dancing, knights jousting on horseback and human chess games. Bring the whole family and ignite the spark of curiosity through educational entertainment, exhibits and demonstrations at one of Oklahoma’s most unique family events where the past is present.

Find something to freshen up your home and garden at the Cleveland County Master Gardener Spring Plant Sale. Browse hundreds of plants that have been grown in the greenhouse located at the Cleveland County Fairgrounds. Don't miss this annual Oklahoma-grown plant sale in Norman this April.

We’re bringing stories to life with Stories & Specimens at the Sam Noble Oklahoma Museum of Natural History! In this engaging program, children are invited to gather for a lively story time, where fascinating tales spark curiosity and set the stage for exploration. Each session dives into a themed topic, connecting stories to science and cultural history with museum objects that let kids see, touch, and discover in our interactive Discovery Room. Best of all, Stories & Specimens is included free with museum admission, making it the perfect way for young learners to enjoy interactive storytelling and hands-on exploration all in one visit!

Award-winning actor Ed Harris will discuss his career as part of the celebration of his induction into the Hall of Great Western Performers at the Western Heritage Awards. The Q&A will be moderated by actor Rex Linn. Free with museum admission.

Discover, play, and create at the Fred Jones Jr. Museum of Art during our Spotlight event series. Fun with Flowers invites visitors of all ages to enjoy interactive activities, hands-on art-making, and more! All inspired by the blooms on view in our galleries.

Let your creativity blossom! Make nature-inspired art with materials found in the garden, transform into your favorite flower with face painting, and experience stunning arrangements by local florists that bring works from our collection to life.

Saddle up for Second Saturday XL: Rodeo Day at Oklahoma Contemporary! Round up the family for an afternoon of art, music, movement, and hands-on making, presented in partnership with artist Jakian Parks and inspired by his exhibition, Jakian Parks: The Black Land. Learn the ropes from real cowboys, meet friendly farm animals, enjoy live DJ tunes, and explore the galleries together. From pony rides to Western-themed art projects, there’s something for every trailblazer!

Two unlikely heroes flee the modern world, arriving in the fabled land of the birds seeking freedom and a better way of life. But the men are unable to resist remaking this utopian paradise to their own liking, without regard for the inhabitants who already occupy the land. The Birds takes the classic Greek comedy by Aristophanes and reframes the play through an indigenous lens.
