Set to the sounds of the motion picture soundtrack, passengers will relive the magic of the classic story as they are whisked away on THE POLAR EXPRESS™ for a magical one-hour trip to meet Santa. Once on board, your car hosts will work their way through the coach and punch your golden ticket before hot chocolate and delicious Walker’s Shortbread are served by dancing chefs. Passengers then read along with the classic children’s book, The Polar Express, by Chris Van Allsburg.
Santa and his helpers board the train to greet passengers and each guest is given the first gift of Christmas – a silver sleigh bell. During the trip, characters on each car lead passengers in caroling and onboard entertainment just like in the film! Each guest will take home a keepsake sleigh bell in addition to the wonderful memories made on this magical trip. First Class passengers also receive a collectible THE POLAR EXPRESS™ ceramic mug to take home.

Then, browse the antique mall, have lunch at the many restaurants, and shop for beautiful plants, pumpkins, and so much more.
THE POLAR EXPRESS™ Train Ride is a magical re-creation of the classic children’s story led by a cast of talented actors on board a real train. Have your golden tickets ready for the Conductor! Dancing chefs serve passengers hot chocolate and Walker's Shortbread cookies, enjoy a reading of the classic book by Chris Van Allsburg, and receive the First Gift of Christmas after Santa boards the train to greet families. Performers engage passengers in caroling and fun holiday activities on the heartwarming trip back to the station.
This reflective experience on the shortest day of the year will include interpretive walks to the mound, traditional games and other activities. Around 5:15, visitors can watch the winter solstice sun set through the mound tunnel. There is also an indoor viewing option. Visitors may bring blankets and lawn chairs for outdoor viewing. Local food trucks will be available to purchase food and drinks.
This event is free but pre-registration is required. If you wish to visit the galleries, you may purchase admission at the museum’s Info Desks. The galleries will close at 5 p.m.
