Two unlikely heroes flee the modern world, arriving in the fabled land of the birds seeking freedom and a better way of life. But the men are unable to resist remaking this utopian paradise to their own liking, without regard for the inhabitants who already occupy the land. The Oklahoma Animal Coalition is asking Oklahomans to turn off non-essential outdoor lights from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m. during spring migration season (March 15-May 31). Excessive outdoor lighting confuses birds as they migrate through the state, separating them from their flocks, causing collisions with buildings and powerlines, and getting lost in dangerous environments.
