The Oklahoma Animal Coalition is asking Oklahomans to turn off non-essential outdoor lights from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m. during spring migration season (March 15-May 31). Excessive outdoor lighting confuses birds as they migrate through the state, separating them from their flocks, causing collisions with buildings and powerlines, and getting lost in dangerous environments.
