In this engaging program, children are invited to gather for a lively story time, where fascinating tales spark curiosity and set the stage for exploration. Each session dives into a themed topic, connecting stories to science and cultural history with museum objects that let kids see, touch, and discover in our interactive Discovery Room. This March, Get Creative and Learn New Skills with OSC-Arts Classes! Come learn the art of screen printing at Oscillator Press! Students will receive their own screen to create their prints. Jenna Bryan will guide students through each part of the process including emulsion coating/screen prep, color separation/creating transparencies, exposing screens and printing their final projects.
This class will cover printing on paper with water-based ink on a print board, as well as printing on t-shirts with plastisol ink on a carousel press. We'll cover both hand-drawn and digital image prep, with time to experiment and personalize your project. Great for artists, designers, and anyone curious about making prints you can repeat, remix, and share.
All participants will end the class with a finished fine art screen print, several custom printed t-shirts, screen of their own to take home and reuse for future projects full understanding of the screen printing process.
