MAINSITE Contemporary Art is excited to announce "Wêwenetôni Shehkîtâkan: Ancestral Patterns Through Our Regalia" a group exhibition curated by Amber DuBoise-Shepherd. The show debuts with the opening reception on October 10 at 6:00 pm, coinciding with Norman's 2nd Friday Art Walk, and runs through November 14.
"Wêwenetôni Shehkîtâkani: Ancestral Patterns Through Our Regalia, is an exhibition influenced by my late grandmother, Adeline Ketcheshawno DuBoise, who was born for her people of the Prairie Band Potawatomi, Sac & Fox, Kickapoo, and Absentee Shawnee... For this exhibition I wanted to share her work alongside other Indigenous fashion designers, weavers, jewelers, and painters, each sharing their ancestral patterns of their people and their families... The clothing, woven belts, and jewelry they create are more than just objects admired for their skill and beauty—they are to be respected and honored, as they carry the ancestral patterns, designs, and memories of our people. I trust this exhibition will urge viewers to look and engage more deeply with our creations beyond the surface level of the materials. They let viewers know that these creations exist beyond the past and are rooted in memory continuing to carrying our families and our nation’s people forward"

Ditty Bops 2025 brings Veterans and Artists together in a powerful mosaic of music, movement, film, and country. Created by more than 70 participants through free workshops, and deepened by four Veteran artists performing with 11 civilian artists, the work explores life after service with honesty, vulnerability, and courage. Audiences are invited to move beyond “thank you for your service,” to witness bravery and connection side by side, and to leave with a renewed sense of compassion and belonging.
Ditty Bops 2025 is presented by SPARK! Creative Lab in partnership with Oklahoma Contemporary and support from the Creative Forces Initiative of the National Endowment for the Arts, administered by the Mid-America Arts Alliance.

Join us for the second year of Cure-8 performances at Oklahoma Contemporary. Cure-8 is an 8-week creative experience that pairs local dance makers with leading industry experts to produce new original works. Through these mentorships, artists will weave community engagement and advocacy for pressing social issues into their creative process. Choreographers will collaborate with local social service organizations, crafting works informed by topics paramount to the community. By presenting works that call attention to specific social issues, the audience's experience is more than passive observation; it catalyzes active engagement and dialogue for social change.
