Tickets for the Norman Ballet Company's 23rd annual Oklahoma Nutcracker are on sale now!
Since its premiere in 2002, The Oklahoma Nutcracker has drawn a statewide audience and become a holiday tradition for families in Central Oklahoma. This unique production intertwines Oklahoma history and themes of nature with the traditional storyline and musical score of the original Nutcracker Ballet. Our retelling features the Overholser family of Oklahoma City. Henry, Anna, and their daughter, Henry Ione, lived in the first mansion built in Oklahoma City in 1903. Our fictional adventure begins at Christmas when Henry Ione receives a nutcracker from her uncle. After a festive party, she witnesses a fight between mice and soldiers and is taken to the Oklahoma prairie where she and the nutcracker prince are entertained by Oklahoma icons like the scissortail fly catcher, the king snake, the chili pepper, cowgirls, and even a mama armadillo and her babies.
Celebrating our 40th anniversary season, The 2025 Oklahoma Nutcracker will be performed on Saturday, December 13 at 7:00 p.m., and Sunday, December 14, at 3:00 p.m. at the Nancy O'Brian Center for the Performing Arts, 1809 Stubbeman in Norman. The Sand Plum Fairy Tea Party is back on Sat. Dec. 14 at 1:00pm (tickets are $40). Tickets may be purchased online at www.TicketStorm.com or by calling 1-866-966-1777. All seats are reserved. Show ticket prices range from $25-$38.
Norman Ballet Company (NBC) members and apprentices, as well as dance students from studios throughout central Oklahoma will perform in the production. NBC is thrilled to welcome Guest Artists from the Collage Dance Collective in Memphis, TN. Lauren Philson and Santiago Castañeda will dance the roles of the Sand Plum Fairy and her Prince.
