OKCMOA is proud to collaborate with the United Service Organizations (USO) to welcome active-duty military, veterans, and their families to the Museum during Military Appreciation Weekend, a seasonal program hosted in the summer and fall of 2026, and the winter and spring of 2027.

These weekend-long events align OKCMOA’s mission “to enrich lives through the visual arts” with the USO’s mission “to strengthen the well-being of the people serving in America’s military and their families,” providing days where service members, veterans, and their families can experience all the Museum has to offer free of charge.

As part of our commitment to fostering a sense of community, visitors to the Museum will have the meaningful opportunity to create “thank you for your service” cards. These heartfelt messages will be sent to our brave service members who are deployed overseas, allowing our visitors to contribute to their well-being and show their support directly.

Calling all birders! Join us for a Bird Walk on Saturday, November 7th at 8:00am. Guests will embark on a guided walk, led by seasoned birders from the Oklahoma City Audubon Society. Discover local avian species and learn to identify bird calls while enjoying a walk around our beautiful farm!

Bring your own binoculars or use ours on a first-come, first-served basis. Register today to secure your spot! This event involves walking on potentially uneven terrain, so please prepare accordingly.

The annual National Weather Festival in Norman highlights the many weather-related organizations and activities in Oklahoma. This free, family-friendly festival showcases the science and safety behind weather, featuring engaging activities for all ages, and features many National Weather Center organizations, such as the National Weather Service, Oklahoma Mesonet, and Storm Prediction Center. Don't miss the opportunity to meet meteorologists from local news stations, see helicopters and emergency vehicles up close, watch weather balloon launches and drone demonstrations, and more. Head to the National Weather Center in Norman for a fun and exciting day celebrating weather, science and community.
