We’re bringing stories to life with Stories & Specimens at the Sam Noble Oklahoma Museum of Natural History! In this engaging program, children are invited to gather for a lively story time, where fascinating tales spark curiosity and set the stage for exploration. Each session dives into a themed topic, connecting stories to science and cultural history with museum objects that let kids see, touch, and discover in our interactive Discovery Room. Two nationally recognized experts on building landscapes for native pollinators will visit Oklahoma for discussions focused on how gardeners can create vital habitats for wildlife in their own yards and communities.
Authors Heather Holm and Nancy Lawson will speak at events in Edmond and Tulsa on March 6 and 7, as part of the Welcoming Garden Speaker Series, “Creating Natural Spaces and Coexisting with Wildlife.” The events are presented by the Oklahoma Native Plant Network, a nonprofit dedicated to promoting the use of native plants in landscapes across Oklahoma.

In this hands-on scientific illustration workshop, we’ll take our art supplies into the exhibit halls to participate in an art-themed scavenger hunt. No experience? No problem! Our instructors will guide you through simple drawing techniques to have you sketching like a pro. So, whether you’re a curious beginner or a seasoned illustrator, you’ll discover new ways to connect with the natural world. All materials will be provided.
