Returning to the Oklahoma City Museum of Art, One Work, Many Voices invites visitors to experience a single work of art through the perspectives of guest speakers from our community. Rather than a traditional lecture, this conversation-based gallery program encourages curiosity, thoughtful discussion, and audience participation, reminding us that every viewer brings something meaningful to the experience.

This session explores "I Refuse to be Invisible" by Njideka Akunyili Crosby, on loan from Art Bridges. Joining the discussion are Suzanne Thomas, artist and Rose State College professor, and Tahnee Jones, chef and owner of Naija Wife Kitchen and a 2025 James Beard Award Best Chef: Southwest Semifinalist. Together, they’ll examine themes of identity, culture, memory, belonging, and visual storytelling while inviting guests to share their own observations and experiences. As new perspectives emerge, the artwork becomes a starting point for deeper understanding—not only of the work itself, but of one another.

Following the gallery discussion, guests are invited to enjoy a tasting of Nigerian cuisine prepared by Tahnee Jones. Extending the experience beyond the gallery, the tasting offers another way to connect with the cultural influences reflected in Crosby’s work through food, conversation, and community.

This September, make your way to Norman's Ink the Block Party. This family-friendly street festival will feature live music, live mural painting and an art market. Make sure to catch the demonstration of a steamroller creating a large-scale woodblock printing. There will also be exciting, interactive art activities for everyone to participate in such as using laser-cutters and creating giant inflatables. There will be plenty of food and drinks to enjoy during this incredible festival in Norman this fall.

ABOUT THE WNBR Celebrating bicycle power and the beauty of people World Naked Bike Ride (WNBR) is an international clothing-optional people powered event that highlights the vulnerability of cyclists everywhere decries society’s dependence on pollution-based transport and promotes positive body image. It’s also just a lot of fun! The event is bare-as-you-dare; anything from body paint to underwear to fanciful costumes are encouraged. Due to legal restrictions full frontal nudity is at your own risk. Large-scale body painting is typically available pre-ride and personal expression is encouraged. past events drew over 2000 riders and covered over ten miles of high visibility city areas. Blessed by decent summer weather in a great cycling city the event has grown into a fantastic rolling celebration complete with a massive afterparty. Participants often describe it as a transcendent group experience personally transforming and beyond superlative.

Work with Bike Marshalls (in yellow vests!) for everyone’s safety. Communicate what you need to those around you and support those who call out for help!

Theatre Crude Fringe Festival is an 11-day event in Oklahoma City that will present 22 different live theatre productions across three venues. The Oklahoma State Fair will host a trio of incredible acts at the Route 66 Red Dirt Music Festival. The lineup includes popular Red Dirt musicians: Wade Bowen, William Clark Green and Cam Allen. Since releasing his first album in 2002, Wade Bowen has helped popularize Red Dirt music with fan favorites like “Songs About Trucks." Over the course of 15 years, William Clark Green has transformed from a Lubbock college bar performer to one of Texas Regional Radio's and iTunes Country's biggest chart toppers. Cam Allen first hit the scene with his 2022 single "Daydream" and has released a series of successful singles and albums.

All shows on the Chickasaw Country Entertainment Stage are free with fair admission and seating is first-come, first-served.

Carpenter Square Theatre presents the comedy King James by Rajiv Joseph. The title King James refers to King LeBron James. It's a story of friendship and a small market's love for the professional basketball team. Pictured are the cast Mikael Dashawn (in Cleveland Jersey) and Olen Cox. Show opens Friday, 9/11 & runs through Sunday, 9/27. Shows are Thursday, Friday & Saturday evenings at 7:30 pm with two Sunday matinees at 2 pm on September 20 & 27.

The Unlikely Blues Band will play originals and covers on the patio at Bedlam Bar-B-Q for a fun warm summer evening. All ages are welcome.
