Celebrate fall at the annual Pumpkin Festival at Shepherd's Cross. Enjoy a peaceful day filled with family-friendly fun at an authentic working sheep farm in Claremore. You'll find more than 60 free activities such as a pumpkin patch, hay maze and game area. You can also pet sweet farm animals like sheep, goats, donkeys and alpacas. Look around the farm for the QR code scavenger hunt and watch short videos about farming and shepherding.
Tractor-pulled wagon rides are available for a fee and loads of pumpkins will be available for purchase. Bundle your fall fun with a Pumpkin Package that includes a pumpkin, wagon ride and a take-home craft. Browse the Farm Store housed within an old Amish barn to shop for handmade decor, gifts and wares from more than 80 vendors. Pick up some local honey, meat, eggs, produce, baked goods, candy and snacks.
Celebrate and support monarch butterflies with us at our 4th Annual Monarch Festival on Saturday, September 27th! From 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., enjoy fun, educational activities like monarch-themed crafts and seed ball-making. The festival will also feature discussions with local experts to answer all your monarch and gardening questions. Bring your family for a morning dedicated to these amazing creatures!

Pioneer Library System’s annual Touch A Truck event celebrates its
20th year this fall. This well-attended event will return on September 27,
from 9 am to 12 pm, to the Cleveland County Fairgrounds, located at 615 E
Robinson Street in Norman. A quiet hour, designed for children with sensory
sensitivities, will be held from 9 to 10 am. This event is free to the public,
and registration is not required.
The Demonstration Garden will be open for children's activities. This will be the same day as the Pioneer Library's Touch a Truck event at the fairgrounds. Children of all ages are invited to attend. Parents can tour the garden with the childlren and learn about the Cleveland County Master Gardener Program.
Shop unique, handmade products at the Bethel Craft Fair in Norman on September 27. The fair, held in the annex of Bethel Baptist Church, promises a great day full of shopping with over fifty local vendors in addition to door prizes and refreshments. Browse T-shirts, tumblers, wood crafts, leather goods, cosmetics, candles, decor and more during this shopping extravaganza. The craft fair benefits the college ministry of Bethel Baptist Church.
Scissortail Park will be home to a Farmers Market starting in April and running through October. Join us every Saturday morning, from 9 am to 11 pm, and peruse a variety of fresh produce and handcrafted items while supporting your local farmers!
The Sam Noble Oklahoma Museum of Natural History will host a docent training program beginning Saturday, September 27 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., with additional sessions on October 4, 11, and 18. This multi-session training offers participants in-depth knowledge of museum exhibits, effective teaching techniques, and hands-on experience shadowing current docents. Upon completion, trainees will be equipped to serve as public-facing gallery volunteers. Must be 18 or older to apply.
Take a walk with us to learn about the plants in Mitch Park! Dr. Caddell will be sharing her extensive knowledge of plants with us, and we will be contributing our findings to the Parks for Pollinators 2025: Mitch Park VIRTUAL BioBlitz using the free iNaturalist App.

A few helpful notes for the Plant Walk:
We will meet at the parking lot of the Mathis Skate Park and walk on trails from there. Click here for a Google Maps Pin of the location. Please register each person attending this program. Limited spaces are available, and if you are not able to attend after registering please notify us by calling so we can open the spot up on the roster. Dress weather-appropriate and wear comfortable walking shoes.If you will be utilizing any insect repellents, please apply them in the parking lot or at home, not near plants and wildlife in the park.Be sure to bring enough drinking water for your group.
