Get ready for a Halloween hoedown at the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum's HalloWest. Guests are encouraged to don their best Halloween costumes and enjoy thrilling festivities with a western twist. Join in on trick-or-treating through the museum's turn-of-the-century town, Prosperity Junction, and explore Town Square. There will also be crafts, face painting, and lively western dancing. Cowboys and cowgirls alike won't want to miss the HalloWest event at the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum this October.

A crime has been committed within the Museum, and everyone is a suspect. Can you identify the culprit?

Take in exclusive conversations with the case’s lead detective, gather intel before the night’s mystery unfolds, and enjoy a cocktail with views of the downtown skyline. Then, at 6 pm, descend into the galleries and put your detective skills to the test.

(Ages 18+) Dr. Robert Con Davis-Undiano will discuss the Day of the Dead and his book, Mestizos Come Home! Making and Claiming Mexican-American Identity. Known for its vibrant marigolds, painted skulls, and joyful celebration of ancestors, the Day of the Dead is celebrated around the world. Dr. Davis-Undiano will explore the holiday’s rich legacy and the ways it continues to bring people together in celebration of identity and belonging. Dr. Davis-Undiano is a Professor of English, Neustadt Professor, and Executive Director of World Literature Today.

Explore the rich history and cultural significance of Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) during a free public talk at the Sam Noble Oklahoma Museum of Natural History in Norman. Dr. Robert Con Davis-Undiano, professor of English, Neustadt Professor and executive director of “World Literature Today” magazine, will discuss the holiday and his book, “Mestizos Come Home! Making and Claiming Mexican-American Identity.”

Known for its vibrant marigolds, painted skulls and joyful celebration of ancestors, Día de los Muertos is observed around the world. The talk will explore the holiday’s legacy and how it continues to bring people together through shared identity and belonging. This event is open to adults ages 18 and older. Admission is free, but registration is required via the website.

The Wicked Forest of Terror offers several Halloween experiences this fall. The Adult Haunt is a scare attraction recommended for ages 13 and up.

For younger children, Tiny Terror is a family-friendly, non-horror walkthrough with no actors, taking place October 17 and 24.

Blackout Night takes place November 1, challenging guests to make their way through the forest in complete darkness with only a lantern to guide them.

Science Museum Oklahoma presents Spin! The Art of the Modern Zoetrope, now on display in the museum’s smART Space galleries through August 2027. The exhibition features works by eight artists who reimagine the 19th-century zoetrope, an early animation device that creates the illusion of motion through rapidly sequenced images. Interactive exhibits explore motion, perception, vision persistence and animation, and are included with museum admission.

Chester's Pumpkin Patch offers visitors over 25 fun-filled acres to explore in Piedmont. Visitors of all ages can enjoy hayrides, corn mazes, barn games, a petting zoo and more! The pumpkin patch is open daily from 9 am to 6 pm Monday-Saturday, opening at 1 pm on Sundays. On the weekends, attendees can catch a variety of live music and performances.

Braum’s Affair of the Heart returns to OKC Fair Park October 23–25, 2026, for three days of shopping and unique finds.

An Oklahoma tradition for more than 40 years, the fall show will feature more than 475 vendors throughout the Bennett Event Center and Centennial Building. Shoppers can explore boutique clothing and accessories, home décor, handcrafted goods, jewelry, specialty foods, seasonal décor, gifts and more.

This fall’s event includes 181 new vendors and approximately 14,100 additional square feet of vendor space compared with last fall.

With the holiday season approaching, visitors can get an early start on Christmas shopping while discovering small businesses, makers and one-of-a-kind finds. Santa and Mrs. Claus will also make special appearances throughout the weekend.

Admission is $13 for adults, and children 12 and under are free. Paid admission includes free return admission throughout the weekend.
