A Free Community Event celebrating pollinators and the Monarch Migration. Plant sale, garden vendors, gardening and pollinator educational booths, Food Trucks, Alpaca Fun Farm, musical performances by the Silver Strings of Putnam City. All in the Color Garden at Will Rogers Gardens.

Join the Oklahoma Sierra Clubs Cimarron Group for a trip to Fort Worth, Texas aboard the Heartland Flyer, the Amtrak passenger train that runs back and forth between Oklahoma and Texas every day. Board the train with us in Oklahoma City, Norman, Purcell, Pauls Valley, or Ardmore to experience train travel right here in Oklahoma (train departs OKC at 8:25 am). Tickets will be provided by Sierra Club, so advanced registration on the website is required. When we arrive in Texas, we will take the bus to meet with the Greater Fort Worth Sierra Club for a tour at the Amon Carter Museum of American Art from 2:00 - 4:00 pm. We recommend packing a lunch or purchasing food from the train car cafe on the ride down, and we will provide food for the trip home (train is scheduled to arrive back in OKC at 9:27 pm). A detailed itinerary will be provided to registered participants via email. Join us from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. for monarch-themed crafts, seed ball-making, face painting, and other fun activities that explore the monarch migration. The event will also feature discussions with local experts to answer all your monarch and gardening questions. Bring the whole family for a morning at the farm, celebrating these amazing creatures!

Science Museum Oklahoma presents Spin! The Art of the Modern Zoetrope, now on display in the museum’s smART Space galleries through August 2027. The exhibition features works by eight artists who reimagine the 19th-century zoetrope, an early animation device that creates the illusion of motion through rapidly sequenced images. Interactive exhibits explore motion, perception, vision persistence and animation, and are included with museum admission.

The National Kidney Foundation invites the Oklahoma City community to step up in the fight
against kidney disease at the 2026 Oklahoma Kidney Walk, Saturday, September 26, at
Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark.

Kidney disease affects millions of Americans, and many don’t know they’re at risk. The
Oklahoma Kidney Walk brings together patients, families, healthcare professionals, supporters,
and the community for a morning of hope, awareness, and action.

Doors open at 9:00 a.m., with music, family-friendly activities, community partners, inspiring
stories, and more. The Kidney Walk begins at 10:30 a.m.

Participation is open to everyone. Form a team, walk with family and friends, or come out and
show your support for Oklahomans impacted by kidney disease.

Every step helps raise awareness and supports, the National Kidney Foundation’s work in
patient programs, education, advocacy, and lifesaving research.

The National Kidney Foundation will host the 2026 Oklahoma Kidney Walk Saturday, September 26, at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark in Oklahoma City. Doors open at 9 a.m., with the walk beginning at 10:30 a.m.

The event brings together patients, families and community members to raise awareness of kidney disease and support patient programs, education, advocacy and research.

Featuring over 60 animatronic dinosaurs, skeletons, photo ops, and rides - Dinosaur Expedition will engage guests with prehistoric creatures from the Jurassic, Cretaceous, and Triassic Periods. Identify which OKC Zoo animals are the living relatives of the dinosaurs that once roamed the earth, and how supporting the Zoo's conservation efforts can help save these species!

The Chickasaw Nation Annual Meeting and Festival will bring Chickasaw heritage, customs and culture to life in Tishomingo with a different schedule of events each day. Activities include an art and craft market, live music, storytelling, children’s activities, cultural demonstrations and classes, a parade, food trucks and more. Events will take place at the Chickasaw Nation Historic Capitol Building grounds throughout the festival.

Guests will explore the animated world of Dia de Muertos through a unique collection of 2 and 3-dimensional artwork. From the work of early pre-Hispanic cultures to the 21st century, Lives of the Dead offers 1000 years of artistic visions of the dead. The exhibition emphasizes current and vintage Latin American folk art. From Papier-mâché (cartoneria) skulls and skeletons created by the famous Linares family to the ceramic tableaux and Catrinas of Metepec, Lives of the Dead brings together some of Latin America’s most renowned folk artists. Other exhibition highlights include antique prints by Jose Guadalupe Posada, Manuel Manilla, and Dia de Muertos, as seen in contemporary paintings and prints from Mexico. Visitors will also experience the celebration and beliefs behind Dia de Muertos with the inclusion of an elaborate Mexican style ofrenda.
